Meet Lisa Tyre

With almost 30 years of dedicated experience in the senior living industry, Lisa brings a wealth of expertise and an unwavering passion for enriching the lives of seniors. Her journey began in 7th grade, volunteering at her local nursing home, where she discovered a deep love for connecting with and supporting older adults—a passion that has guided her ever since.

Throughout her career, Lisa has held diverse roles that showcase her commitment and versatility. She has served as an Activities Director, creating engaging experiences for residents, and as a Sales Counselor, excelling in both inside sales and community outreach at the community level. Her leadership extends to the executive suite, where she thrived as Vice-President of Advertising, driving impactful strategies to elevate senior living communities. Her knowledge of the ins and outs of retirement life make her an expert on senior living.


Beyond her professional achievements, Lisa is a published author of two children’s books with Penguin Random House, reflecting her creative spirit and dedication to storytelling. At Living Well for Seniors, she combines her extensive industry knowledge, heartfelt dedication, and innovative approach to empower seniors and their families to live well at every stage.

As the founder of 50 Is Not Old and a lifelong encourager at heart, Tania has built a thriving community of women who embrace aging with confidence, style, and joy. What began as a small personal blog at the age of 55 has grown into an inspiring platform reaching millions of women worldwide, proving that life after 50 can be full of beauty, purpose, and laughter.


Tania’s journey has always centered around connection. Raised in Middle Tennessee, she met her husband, Joe, when he moved into the apartment above hers while attending college. Together, they built a life in Southwest Virginia, raising three children and now cherishing time with their five grandchildren, as well as their beloved dog, Lucy Lu, who keeps everyone in line.


Through her writing and community, Tania shares practical wisdom, humor, and heartfelt encouragement to help others live fully at every stage of life. Her approachable style and faith-centered perspective have made her a trusted voice among women navigating midlife and beyond.
