I am happy to report that I am safely home from my Nashville conference and back in the barn where I belong. Last night, I slept on the uncomfortable pull-out couch with all three dogs lying on top of me, and I couldn't have been happier. So what if they woke up at 5 AM and chose violence? Home, Sweet, Home!
While I was away, work on the house continued. When men in RAM trucks show up, stuff gets done!

This time next week, I should have a real roof! We're in the midst of picking out siding, cabinets, tile, flooring, the type of HVAC units to use, and our soffit color. We're going to need a LOT of RAM trucks.
Yesterday's post on the vagus nerve is beginning to make sense, right? If you missed it, you can check it out here:
Today's post came from the comments. Fran asked what type of shirts to wear with linen pants. There are several great options. I used our AI models to show you some of my favorite looks. AND, I included a bit especially for petites.

I hope this Good Friday is the start of a weekend full of blessings for you. I'll be doing church with the family on Easter, followed by a church-wide picnic and pickleball! It's not Heaven, but it's close. 🙂

Fun Linen Finds
Since today's post deals with tops to wear with linen pants, I thought I'd link to a few. 🙂 Love these striped, cropped pants.
White linen pants are a summer staple. These are a great buy at 56% off!

Navy is my favorite! Especially when it's this dark. Love the flared hem.
A best seller from Quince! Available in a ton of colors and also a good price.

I'm a big fan of comfy footwear that also happens to be cute! I just ordered these striped shoes today, and I'm pretty sure I'll be wearing them 24/7. JD also ordered a VERY STYLISH pair, and I would never have believed these were his if I hadn't seen him place the order
I just got this in, and I can't wait to use it! Here are the details: A calming, sleep-enhancing mist that helps hydrate, soothe and preserve skin overnight. Infused with natural aromatics and antioxidants. I love products that don't require much from me, lol. I also got these!
How pretty are these?! Nightlights don't have to be ugly, apparently!
How smart is this? No more plastic blow-up beds. This would be great for when the grandkids come over. Okay, I don't have grandkids. It's for Traveller.

My Style – Red
I wore a pair of red pants to the conference and got so many compliments. It's definitely got Boss-lady vibes! These pants are gorgeous, this scarf would be the perfect POP for a little black dress. The sleeveless top would look great under my black cardigan. I may be pushing it to call this sweater red, but it's close enough and I like it!

Stella emailed in response to my Chocolate Gravy post, to ask if I'd ever had tomato gravy. No, Stella, I'm not a psychopath! Just kidding. There's no food I won't try. My mom and I are going to try it this weekend. I'll let you know!
🍅 Southern Tomato Gravy
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons fat (vegetable oil, shortening, bacon grease, or rendered sausage fat)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1⅓ cups chicken broth or stock
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, warm the fat.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture just begins to brown and develops a nutty aroma.
  3. Slowly whisk in the chicken broth, stirring until smooth and well combined.
  4. Add the undrained diced tomatoes and stir to combine.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens.
  7. Serve hot over biscuits, grits, or your favorite comfort food.
