I have a question. Are any of you bridge players? If so, would you like to come to Tennessee and take my place? I made the mistake of playing this week, and it did not go well. For those of you who don't play, here's a quick tip. Your goal is to score points. The more points, the better. |

Guess which columns belong to me. 😡 At the end of the evening, everyone called out their scores. I yelled out “650”. “Total?” “Yes, total." “Wait, TOTAL?” “YES, Nina, TOTAL.” I swear she turned down her hearing aid just so I'd have to repeat it twice. We play at a local restaurant and always eat dinner. Since I'm trying to behave, I ordered a steak and asked the waitress to put the plain baked potato in a to-go box so I could have it for lunch today. Imagine my surprise when I opened the container and found a delicious chicken salad sandwich and pasta. Oops, looks like I picked up the wrong to-go box.🤷♀️ I hope you enjoyed your victory and my dry potato, Nina. You won Bridge, but I definitely won lunch! Enjoy your weekend. I hope it's all wins! |

Living Well Tip of the Day |

Use the "Palming Technique" to Soothe Tired Eyes The Warm Darkness Rest: Rub your palms together briskly for 5 to 10 seconds until they feel warm. Cup your hands and gently place them over your closed eyes, making sure your palms rest on the cheekbones and your fingers overlap on your forehead without putting any pressure directly on the eyelids. Keep them covered for 30 to 60 seconds while taking slow, deep breaths. Why it works: Darkened warmth is extraordinarily soothing to the optic nerve and the ciliary muscles that control eye focus. Completely blocking out all ambient light allows the photoreceptor cells in your retina to enter a state of complete rest. Combined with the soothing heat from your palms, this quick exercise relieves eye strain, softens tight forehead muscles, and offers a quiet moment of deep relaxation. |
