Well, I tried to get a head start on the weekend, but it didn't go as planned. Yesterday, JD called and said I should take the afternoon off so we could go to the lake. JD has NEVER encouraged me to knock off early, so I think it had something to do with the fact that my dad had him standing in the full sun shovelling dirt all day.
Whatever the motivation, I'm never going to say no to a lake trip. I had visions of us riding down the lake, stopping to float, enjoying a nice dinner. So, I headed to the barn with a steak and a cover-up. While JD prepared a cooler, I cooked a delicious steak and gave it to JD to pack.

Any guesses what happened next? Yep. Two seconds later, Traveller was tearing into the steak on the bathroom floor. 😭
Which is why the dogs enjoyed a New York Strip dinner and JD and I feasted on gas-station hamburgers from The Happy Sack.
