Do you have big Memorial Day plans? I do not.
My brother/builder keeps teasing his new pool, but apparently, thunderstorms are in the forecast, lightning, blah, blah, blah. You'd think a builder could install a fancy pergola over it, but whatever.
I know the rain is much needed, but it's really cramping my style.
I was excited to get this dress. I was going to have JD take a picture outside in the sun wearing my sunglasses without the cardigan, but instead we got soaked running into the Tractor Supply. (It's very flattering, and 100% linen. It hits right at my ankle bone and has tiny straps. I'm going to wear a bra like this or this and roll with it.)
Getting soaked reminded me of when we first moved to Tennessee. It rained for weeks. Rachel and I were invited to a wedding, and just as we got ready to leave, I realized that all my umbrellas were in storage. I asked my mom if she had one. Yes, she had three. Two were 1930ish dainty parasols with Lucite handles, and the other was one Tania had left behind. It said “GFWC 2016” on it in big letters. (That's Grundy Federation Women's Club or something.) Whatever it is, they buy quality umbrellas.
Our first impression was a lasting one, anyway.
If you do have plans, I hope they go exactly as you hope and are full of loving encounters. If rain is in the forecast, pack a GOOD umbrella.

In honor of Memorial Day, I thought I'd share clothing from brands that are made in the USA. 🙂
At first I thought this was a one-shoulder dress, but it is her hand, lol. It's available in a ton of colors.
You all know how much I love the tan/white combo! This dress is simple and chic. It reminds me of the Tuckernuck dress I've been eyeing for a few weeks now.
Tommy Bahama never fails. Love the v-neck, the detailing in the sleeves and on the hem, and the color. The white is pretty too!
These would look great on any outdoor patio. They also have a timer so you can set and forget.
Last Chance for Memorial Day Savings
It's official. JD and I are ordering our HELIX mattress today. The sale ends tonight! They have a sleep quiz to help us decide which one will work best, AND I love that they give you 120 days to try it and return it risk-free. I just have to figure out how to try it when I don't have a house yet. Tania and Joe ordered two, maybe they'll let me lie on theirs, lol. Helix also sells bed frames, and I LOVE this one. It's 100% my style.

The "Micro-Break" for Joint Mobility
The 20-20-20 Rule for Movement: If you spend chunks of your day sitting at a desk, crafting, or working on a computer, your joints can stiffen up. Every 20 minutes, take a 20-second break to move a joint through its full range of motion. Roll your shoulders back, circle your ankles, or do a gentle neck stretch.
