Welcome to Monday,
My weekend has not been great.
If you’ve been reading this blog for more than five minutes, you know I’m a little competitive. Okay, a lot competitive. I really hate to lose.
My dad actually told me this weekend that maybe I needed to chill a little and remember that games are supposed to be fun.
This from the man who once knocked my mother down trying to get to a volleyball.
When he tells you to chill, maybe it’s time to take a good hard look at yourself.
But how am I supposed to relax when there are people like Julie P. in the world?
I love to play Words Galore on this site. I have another full-time job, plus I put this blog together, so I really don’t have time to sit at my computer for hours trying to get my name on a leaderboard.
And yet, that’s exactly what did, thanks to Julie P.

I mean, look at this leaderboard. Every single name is hers except for Player One. I’m pretty sure that’s Julie too. She probably just got tired of typing her name over and over and let it autofill. Honestly, at this point she should just type “ME AGAIN.”

Eventually, I had to stop losing at that game so I could go lose at another one. I played pickleball this weekend, and pretty much everyone beat me. Age? Gender? Skill level? It didn’t matter.

But then I thought, you know what? The weekend wasn’t a total loss. I mentioned a while back that I’ve been dieting, and for two solid weeks I have been KILLING IT. I’ve been taking my Ignite. I’ve only been drinking coffee and water. No sugar. No bread. Nothing fun. And I was very excited to announce that I have officially lost 4½ pounds!
Finally. A win.
Then JD came to see me.
I hadn’t seen him in about four days, and I immediately thought he looked different.
“What happened to you?”
He casually said, “I decided to stop eating everything, and I’ve lost eight pounds.”
Eight pounds in four days by not eating “everything”.
So, I took to heart what my father had taught me and knocked him down.
There's a reason Julie P doesn't use her full name. 🙂

Hope there's a win or two in your week. Thank you for being here!

xo,
Lisa ❤️

Pleats are EVERYWHERE. This pleated skirt from Athleta comes in black and a deep purple
This is a zippered jacket! Look at the beautiful pleating on the back.
Very cute and also available in cream with navy stripes.

Lots of different colors and great for transitioning to fall.

Tops with dolman sleeves always look chic to me. Available in a ton of colors and a great price.
I wear camis all of the time. They look great under sweaters, jean jackets, blazers, etc. This one is just $29.
Tons of shades and 30 day free returns.

Curtains are a great way to change the look of a room quickly. We're going to have a ton of windows, and I want all my curtains to be light-filtering like these.
I like my glasses, but I've realized I'm giving Napoleon Dynamite vibes. I love changing things up. This is what I'm considering for my next pair.
Still sharing that Helix has 22% off with my code: LW4S22!

Living Well Tip of the Day
Use the "Doorway Chest Stretch" to Reopen Your Posture
The Frame Hold: Stand in an open doorway. Place your forearms vertically against the door frame on either side, with your elbows bent at about 90 degrees (level with your shoulders). Step one foot forward slowly until you feel a gentle, comfortable stretch across your chest and the front of your shoulders. Hold for 20 to 30 seconds while taking deep, relaxed breaths.
Why it works: Spending hours reading, cooking, driving, or working at a desk naturally draws our shoulders inward. Over time, the pectoral muscles shorten, pulling the neck and spine forward into a hunch. Using the doorway frame provides a stable anchor to safely open up the entire front of your chest, improving posture, expanding lung capacity, and easing upper-back tightness instantly.
