Good Morning,
I'm up and at it this morning, preparing for my sister's visit. Tania is due to arrive on Thursday, and the house is all a stir. I've cleaned the bedroom because apparently she needs to be able to “see” the bed in order to sleep in it.
She's lucky I'm letting her in the room! When we were children, I was afraid to sleep by myself. Probably because she took me to scary movies. I was EIGHT when we saw SSSSS.
She introduced me to a LOT of things that I wouldn’t have known about otherwise. She would sit on the end of her bed and tell me about Carrie and her crazy mother and the bloody prom, and how the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie ended and how you weren’t sure if the killer was actually dead, and HELTER SKELTER. Is it any wonder I used to beg her to let me sleep with her?!
And it wasn’t just scary movies. She introduced me to songs about terrible tragedies that made me afraid to ride in a car –
Tell Laura I Love Her
Or date someone in the military –
Billy Don’t Be a Hero
You know, the more I think about it, maybe I need to do a bit more “preparation" for her visit.

I knew living at the barn would come in handy!

I hope you're prepared for whatever this week brings.

I'm never passing on navy and white, but this is available in solids, too.
The Nordstrom Sale continues. This is $85 now, vs $129 after the sale.

I love the grommets. It's a simple suit, but it looks very chic.

This is the last week to shop Tommy Bahama's End of Season sale.

I just ordered this today. It's been highly praised for a long time, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon. 🙂
Clean air is important! Poor-quality air has been linked to dementia. 🙁 Keep your air space clean.

Comfy and chic. Perfect for Fall.
I'm getting a mid-century modern vibe from this. So clever and a great price!
I think these necklaces are so chic. On sale at Nordstrom.
I know I share about The Farmer's Dog a lot, but yesterday JD made a comment about how much better Maz's coat looked. The dogs just love it. Get 60% off your first box.
Speaking of the dogs, this is by far the best thing we've ever purchased. Now I know just where they are, and they come running when I give them a tone.
My Style – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

This deep green raincoat looks more expensive than it is. Love the rich color.
If you prefer a short rain jacket, this one from Lands' End is perfect. It's available in other colors if red isn't your fave.

Living Well Tip of the Day
Use "The Jaw Unclench" to Release Hidden Neck Tension
The Tongue-Palette Rest: Take a deep breath right now, open your mouth slightly, and let your jaw drop open completely loose. Now, place the flat tip of your tongue against the roof of your mouth, right on the ridge behind your upper front teeth. Keep your lips gently closed, but keep your teeth separated.
Why it works: Many of us unconsciously hold stress by clenching our jaw or pressing our teeth together throughout the day. The muscles that control your jaw are tightly connected to the deep stabilizing muscles in your neck and the base of your skull. Resting your tongue on the roof of your mouth automatically prevents your upper and lower teeth from touching, instantly forcing those tight neck muscles to release their grip and easing subtle headache tension.

If you knew how many games of Word Galore I played this week trying to get back on the board. SIGH. I tried laptop and desktop, going quickly with short words, and taking my time to find longer words. What's your secret, Ladies?? Julie, Allie, and Player One are making me look bad. 🙁
But this week's a new week and I'm feeling lucky!
