Good Morning,
Do you have plans for the weekend?
I'm hoping to work the whole time. Not because I love labor, but my extracurricular hobbies are letting me down.
Getting soaked was the best part of the night. I was 0-4 before the rain came. Thank goodness! If I'd been 4-0 I'd still be out there playing. 🙂

My other “fun” this week was bridge. I was asked to play with some local ladies who look sweet, but are killers. One of their regulars was out with a stomach virus, so I got to fill in!

There are 8 players and each person puts in a dollar. The low scorer get's their dollar back and the winner get's the other 7. I've played several times with this group but I've never won.

So, last evening, I got a zero on my first round. I consoled myself that at least I'd get my dollar back. Then, I kept getting higher scores. By the end of the night, everyone started calling out their totals.
"3,120."
"1,980."
"2,750."
When I proudly announced, "3,270," no one had a higher score!

I have no idea why it looks like I wrote it after three margaritas, but bridge is stressful.

I was trying not to look too excited but I slowly made my way over to the money when I heard, “Oh, wait. I forgot to carry the one. I'm at 3420.” Ugh. Learn to add, Nina!

It's a bad day at bridge when you're wishing you were the one with the stomach virus. 🙁

I hope your weekend is full of clear skies and high scores!

Lisa ❤️

Living Well Tip of the Day
Try "The Flamingo Countertop Check" for Effortless Balance
The Kitchen Stand: Next time you are standing at the counter waiting for the coffee to brew, the kettle to boil, or a piece of toast to pop, lightly rest one hand on the countertop and lift one foot just an inch or two off the floor. Try to hold this position for 15 to 20 seconds, then switch to the other leg. If you feel perfectly steady, challenge yourself by hovering your fingertips just above the surface.
Why it works: Balance is a "use it or lose it" neurological skill. Standing on one leg forces the tiny stabilizing muscles in your ankles, hips, and core to make instant, microscopic adjustments to keep you upright. Sneaking this quick practice into a daily kitchen routine builds excellent joint stability and spatial awareness, making you feel more grounded, sturdy, and confident on any surface.
