I hope your weekend is going well. I'm back home, and I think I left Rachel's just in time. At one point, she told her friend, “My mom really likes to control things.”
 
Well, if helping her make the best possible decisions about school, work, life, boys, and finances count as controlling, guilty as charged. 
 
Thankfully, I'm back at my parents' house, where they appreciate the help. We typically ride to church together, and I sit up front to help my dad by pointing out oncoming cars, trees, traffic, cows in the fields, the best parking spots and whether or not he is exactly centered in between the parking lines. 
 
Last Sunday, since I was leaving for Rachel's after church, he had to do it all himself! I offered to call him and talk on speakerphone for the entire ride, but he said he'd just rely on his past 88 years of getting along without me.

I know it was a difficult few days for him, but he put on a brave face.
