Happy FriYAY,
I finally packed my things and left Rachel to celebrate the end of her semester. Finals are over, and she crushed her classes. I'd like to take credit for it, but she reads this blog, so that's out. I basically sat and watched her study, and took her and her friend to eat.

I was only there a few days, but my mother calls me Calamity Jane, so I did my best to live up to the name.
The girls wanted to take a break, so I suggested pickleball. I had paddles and balls and the will to teach. What I didn't have was tennis shoes, but I didn't let that stop me! Did I play barefoot? Yes. Did I get huge blisters on the bottom of both feet and have to sit with my feet on a bag of ice for two days? Also, yes.
By yesterday I had recovered enough to limp to my car and pack my luggage.
Which is when I burst into Rachel's neighbor's apartment by mistake.
If you knew how long I stood in a complete stranger's living room before my brain finally caught up with reality, you'd probably recommend a neurologist.
My internal monologue went something like this:
"Where did those pickleball paddles come from? Did I leave my paddles here? Those aren't MY paddles… Hey… this isn't Rachel's apartment. Wrong furniture. Male cologne. RETREAT!"
I spun around, scrambled out the door yelling, "I'm so sorry!" and hobbled as fast as my blistered feet would allow.
I have no idea if anyone saw me, but the police never showed up, so I'm counting it as a successful getaway.
The good news is that Rachel now plays pickleball… and I found her a partner who lives right next door.
My work here is done.

Enjoy your weekend!
xo,
Lisa ❤️

I just ordered JD the shirt on the right. He loves a great, white linen shirt and this one has a but of tan to give it interest.
I think I need this top to go along with him. We will look like we belong together without looking matchy-matchy.
I love a great pair of jeans. You can wear these cuffed or uncuffed. They'll look great this fall with booties.
It's so easy to change my look with a new pair of glasses! Warby Parker has all kinds of great options and they offer a virtual try-on. I sent my prescription, and a few days later they were in my mailbox. So easy.
This is a great way to add some seating to your deck without buying a whole new set. And it's storage for those cushions we always forget to bring inside!

Rachel and I got our nails done next door to a mattress store, so I took her in to see the Helix mattress I purchased. Now guess who wants one?! If you're in need, take advantage of the pre-Labor Day Sale! 20% off!
¾ Length Sleeve tops from Amazon
Love this tan and white stripe. It looks so much more expensive than it is.
This top was featured a while back on Save or Splurge. It looks a lot like a sold-out Free People top.
How cool is this?? If you're not familiar, you really need to click the link. Basically, it's tiny candle “pearls” that you can pour into any pretty container. You insert the wick (or wicks) for a very stylish look. I ordered the Caramel Cashmere!

A hydrating body wash that smells like lime and coconut? Say less. 🙂 This is on its way to the barn as we speak.
I'm always on the hunt for a good, aluminum-free deodorant – one that actually works! I just ordered this to try. It goes on like a lotion. They claim the dancers on T.Swift's Eras tour used it, and we all saw how that turned out.

This looks safe and conservative in powder blue, but bold and funky in leopard!
I am always looking for products to help with my fine hair. These are on their way to my house!

This isn't the most exciting item, lol, but I've seen a lot of sick people lately and school is starting in several places. Stay safe!

Living Well Tip of the Day
Try "Box Breathing" to Instantly Reset Your Nervous System
The 4×4 Equal Rhythm: Sit comfortably with your back straight. Breathe out completely, then follow this four-part pattern:
Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of 4.
Hold your breath at the top for a count of 4.
Exhale smoothly through your mouth for a count of 4.
Hold your lungs empty at the bottom for a count of 4.
Repeat this cycle 3 to 4 times in a row.
Why it works: Box breathing balances the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in your blood while stimulating the vagus nerve. The equal pauses between breaths signal to your brain's alarm center that there is no immediate danger, rapidly lowering cortisol levels, steadying your heart rate, and restoring a calm, quiet focus.
